We are very pleased and proud to announce a new addition to our musical teaching team at Saint Mary School! Ms. Burkat will be taking over all of our wind lessons and some of our piano lessons. She is highly qualified, experienced, and will make an excellent addition to our department!

Jacqueline Burkat is a graduate of the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University holding a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance. She has been playing music since age six beginning with the piano. During this time, Jacqueline began to explore, playing many different genres of music on the piano which enabled her consistency to read music of all levels proficiently. Continuing her instrumental education, she began to study saxophone at age nine, then eventually switched to flute and went on to pursue her dreams in college. During this time, Ms. Burkat performed with orchestras, chamber ensembles, wind ensembles, and more; traveling around the country educating and performing at multiple venues, with the highlight being Carnegie Hall.

Along with performing, Jacqueline has taught in various different settings such as private lessons, group lessons, and marching band. She loves spreading the great wonders and mysteries of music to people of all ages and plans to continue developing her musicianship. Currently, Ms. Burkat is pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching at Montclair State University.
