What a show! On April 28th and 29th, Saint Mary School TheatreWorks and The SoundWaves Tower of Babel Big Band blew the roof off and wowed audiences through 4 spectacular performances of Godspell Jr. The big band opened the show with a toe-tapping set of music from artists including Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder, and Led Zeppelin, and the colorful and fun production of Godspell Jr. was supported by a live student pit orchestra. TheatreWorks, after a Friday morning performance, was thrilled when their special guests from the Middletown Senior Center were moved to their feet, giving the company an enthusiastic standing ovation. More than 70 students in grades 4-8 handled every aspect of the production including acting, singing, choreography, props, set design, lighting, costume creation, and playing in the band. The production staff included 5 faculty members, parents, and alumni. Bravo to all!
